About Me

Up close and Personal with

It all started when…

I was called into my manager’s office after another long day of feeling that I had done all that I possible could have. I have always worked long hours, which was something ingrained in me since I was child. So surely after doing this for a couple of years a promotion and praise was coming my way…

I couldn’t haven’t been more wrong. I was put on a performance improvement plan…

How did this happen to me? '

The one who was first in and last out. Always stepping forward for additional work and projects, even if it wasn’t within my normal role or field. You just need to work hard, and people will recognise that, right?

Nope. Big mistake.

I was clearly in the wrong role and industry despite having been educated to perform it well! Something had to change!

It wasn’t until I made the decisions to pivot careers and moved into recruitment that I realised that it wasn’t just me who was struggling in the wrong role and to also articulate the value they could bring.

Now that I was interviewing some of the smartest talents, I realised that even they were missing out on salary increases and promotions. Often not even making into the room to interview even though they were the perfect fit.

Why?

It was because the decision makers above them didn’t see the value and point of difference they brought to the table. Others who often had less experience, less expertise and less educated were elevated by the Power of a Personal Brand.

Other people do more with less.

And this got me interested in Personal Branding - what is it that makes people tick and stand out from the crowd.

What does it take to position someone in a way that resonates with decision makers whilst getting you what you want and deserve? I realised that it all comes down to 3 steps:

✔️ CLARIFY

point of difference and value

✔️ COMMUNICATE

competitive advantage in a compelling way - online and offline

✔️ COMMERCIALISE

IP that combines personality, skills, experience and expertise and create a portfolio career

Then sit back and get to know me from a different angle!

Most days you can find me connecting with people in all shapes and forms - whether it be at speaking engagements, in 1:1 coaching sessions, delivering workshops or hosting events, moderating panel discussions or participating in webinars and podcasts.

When I am not speaking somewhere, coaching high performers or teaching at Uni (to become better with delivering messages and content to a variety of groups), you can find me either working behind my computer screen on new ideas with a long black!

Or I’ll be at the gym (but you need to be an early bird to catch me - my days start at 3/3.15am and I hit the gym just around 3.30am), Maybe I’m recording podcasts, but I’m probably indulging in Tahini (yep- it’s a thing and my biggest addiction) or walking with my partner Don and our Husky Trigger, having long chats about life & Co.

I’m mostly known for never standing still and always having something on the go. My obsession with early mornings might already be a cue that I think life is too exciting to sleep in…

People often refer to me as not your typical Austrian, always energy to burn and always a smile on my face which is addictive I’m told (and if not, my wisdom bombs which are usually a mix up of German and English words and phrases, sure will make you laugh).

The things that I’m most passionate about in life are promoting ownership and taking responsibility over your own career, life and happiness, helping ambitious people to learn how to be in their sweet spot, creating a career where people perform at their personal best but that is  also sustainable and of course loving life whilst getting paid for it.

As a Consultant & Coach on all things Personal & Employer Branding, Career Development & Growth for the Future of Work, I have had the pleasure to work with many leading companies and their senior staff.
